NAPTIP Convicts 52 victims in Akwa Ibom

Akwa Ibom State Zonal command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, has revealed that it convicted 52 traffickers in the zone from 2021 till date.

State Zonal Commander of the Agency, Tina Ugwu, said out of the 1,444 rescued victims, 723 were from the state, 413 from Cross River, 282 from Bayelsa, while 16 are from Rivers State.

Ugwu, who decried the high incidences of sale of babies in the State, assured that efforts have intensified to apprehend those who perpetuate the crime.

Sanwo-Olu consults stakeholders over resumption of toll at Lekki Bridge

Lagos state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, has said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has consulted with stakeholders on the resumption of tolls at the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge. This was contained in a statement issued by Omotoso and made available to newsmen. The statement noted that the planned resumption of tolling by the Lekki Concession Company at the Ikoyi Link Bridge toll gate, consultations with the stakeholders are still ongoing.
