Akwa Ibom State government has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on Ibeno Local government Area of the state.
Chairman of the local government, Henry Mkpa, who announced this on Friday, disclosed that the curfew which starts from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am takes immediate effect.
Mkpa noted that the move is to forestall further escalation of crisis within the communities.
Recall that a clash occurred on Wednesday between the Yoruba Fishermen and indigenes of the host community which claimed lives and property.
Imo State Police Command has arrested a suspected bomb manufacturer. Police spokesperson, Mike Abattam, noted that the command received credible intelligence on the hideout where he manufactures Improvised Explosive Devices used in attacking police stations and government facilities in the state. Abattam revealed that the suspect had since confessed to the crime, adding that investigation was ongoing.
