Russia Urges Ukraine to Give up Resistance in Mariupol

Russia has urged Ukrainian forces to give up their resistance on the besieged port city of Mariupol.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Russian Defence Ministry on Tuesday.

The statement made no direct mention of a new ground offensive in Eastern Ukraine.

This came after Ukrainian President; Volodymyr Zelensky announced the start of a new offensive by Moscow.

Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has directed all Political Appointees contesting the 2023 general election to resign their appointments. This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Oluwole Oyebamiji.
