A group of Nigerians on Sunday are urging former President Goodluck Jonathan to consider a political comeback in 2027, inspired by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s recent return to the White House.

Trump, who lost his re-election in 2020, has now been re-elected as the 47th U.S. President, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in a historic political comeback.

Goodluck Jonathan, in response to Trump’s win, congratulated him on his X handle, calling the victory impressive and expressing optimism about Trump’s potential to advance global peace and progress.

Following his message, many Nigerians flooded the comments, encouraging Jonathan, who also lost re-election in 2015, to return to the presidency in 2027 to address the country’s current economic challenges.
