More communities across the three senatorial districts of Bayelsa State have been submerged as the flood level has continued to rise, causing untold hardship to the residents.

The latest count includes Adagbabiri in Sagbama Local Government Area, Kolo 2 in Ogbia Local Government Area and Okordia in Yenagoa Local Government Area.

The Technical Adviser to the governor on Environment, Alagoa Morris who disclosed this to newsmen noted that this year’s flood is not a monster flood but relatively big.

According to him the water level which is increasing now took many by surprise as they believed it should be going down and never expected it to rise to its current level.

Recall that Head of the Bayelsa State Directorate of Flood and Erosion Control, Walson Omuso told newsmen on Tuesday that the water was receding.
