The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has given Julius Berger a seven-day ultimatum to accept the Federal Government’s N740.79 billion offer for the completion of the 82-kilometer section of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road.

This announcement was made on Wednesday during a visit by the incoming and outgoing Managing Directors of Julius Berger Plc, Pier Lubasch and Lars Richter, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.

A statement from the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, Orji Uchenna, emphasized that the contract could be terminated if the offer is not accepted as Umahi expressed frustration over delays, noting that these setbacks have increased costs and caused hardship for road users.

He called on the construction company to demonstrate corporate responsibility by accepting the government’s terms, adding that continued delays would not be tolerated as the new Managing Director of Julius Berger pledged to address the issues promptly, with hopes for a swift resolution.
