At least four Palestinians have been killed and dozens injured after Israeli fighter jets targeted a tent encampment for displaced Palestinians near al-Aqsa Hospital in central Deir el-Balah, Gaza.

Hospital staff are reported to be overwhelmed as they struggle to treat the severely injured, including women, children, and the elderly, with fears that the death toll could rise.

In a separate incident, Israeli tank shells struck a school in Nuseirat, central Gaza, killing 22 people and wounding 80 others.

In northern Israel, four soldiers were killed, and several others injured in a Hezbollah drone attack on an army base in Binyamina.

Since October 2023, Israeli strikes in Gaza have resulted in at least 42,289 deaths and 98,684 injuries. In Israel, more than 1,100 people were killed during the attacks on October 7, 2023, with over 200 taken captive.
