Women Journalists in the country have challenged the newly sworn-in Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, to use her position to promote the rule of law, equality and justice for the Nigerian citizenry irrespective of their status.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday in Abuja, by the National Chairperson of the Association, Aisha Ibrahim.
She also stated that since the inception of the present administration, the President has continued to ensure gender inclusion in the appointment of women into key offices in government.
The women expressed happiness with President Bola Tinubu for the prompt inauguration of Justice Kekere-Ekun as acting CJN, reiterating that unless the rule of law, equity and justice are promoted, national security and peace may continue to elude the nation.
The National Chairperson also urged women in key positions in the country to serve with commitment and uprightness in all capacities and remain,, role models for future generations to come.
