An umbrella body for youth and children NGOs, the Children’s Rights Advocacy Network (CRANE), has condemned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for unduly exposing innocent children in its fight against crime.
The group while condemning EFCC’s actions of dragging the children of former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello into the alleged N80 billion fraud case against their father, denounced the public exposure and potential psychological harm inflicted on Bello’s minor children.
Recall that the EFCC had publicly revealed that Bello used part of the money to pay his children’s fees at the American International School in Abuja, which has reportedly returned around $760,000 of the fees to the anti-graft agency.
The group called on the EFCC to cease all actions and statements targeting Bello’s children, and adhere to due process.
