People in Kebbi loot government and private warehouses

Residents of Kebbi State, including Birnin Kebbi, engaged in widespread looting of government and private-owned warehouses over the weekend.
The looters targeted a government storage facility in the Bayan Kara area, overpowering security forces to steal essential food items.
This wave of looting follows similar incidents in Abuja and Suleja, highlighting a growing trend of desperation amid economic challenges attributed to petrol subsidy removal and currency fluctuations.
Meanwhile, Chief Press Secretary to Nasir Idris, Governor of Kebbi State, Ahmed Idris, condemned the attacks, revealing the theft of foodstuffs purchased by the state government, valued at over N5 billion. He confirmed efforts to secure the warehouses against future incidents have been initiated.
