INEC Reiterates Commitment to End Vote Buying

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has reiterated its commitment to address vote buying.

Chairman of the Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, stated this at a stakeholders summit aimed at addressing the influence of money on the 2023 general election.

Yakubu lamented the activities of money bags that are desperate to compromise the will of the people at every election cycle.

The Chairman reminded political merchants that elections were not business ventures aimed at making profits, but civilized means of selecting leaders at the various tiers of government.
