Ortom Seeks Polling Units at IDP Camps

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to make adequate provisions for over two million Internally Displaced Persons in the state ahead of 2023 general elections.

Ortom who made the call through his Special Adviser on Millennium Development Goals Magdalene Dura at a meeting in Abuja said such move would ensure credibility of the elections at such centers while giving them a sense of belonging.

He expressed concern over the fate of over two million IDPs in the state whom had been rendered homeless as a result of insurgency.

The Governor appealed to the Federal Government to come to the assistance of IDPs in the state as it is doing to other IDPs in other parts of the country.
