Ex rebel Fighter Sworn-in as Colombia’s President
Colombia has sworn in Gustavo Petro, former rebel fighter, as its first left-wing President. Petro, who took his oath of office in Bogota’s Bolivar Plaza on Sunday, pledged to unite the polarized Country in the fight against inequality, and achieve peace with rebel groups and crime gangs. The President promised to revive scuppered peace negotiations with the National Liberation Army rebels.
