Ogun Governor Calls for New Method in Tackling Insecurity

Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, has harped on the need for security agencies to map efficient methods of tackling insurgency and other forms of criminality in the country.

Abiodun made known when he received the new State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Niyi Ajibola, in Abeokuta, the state capital.

He stated that security was not only about providing the needed weapons, but adequate welfare to the officers.

The Governor added that the relative peace in the state was as a result of synergy among the security agencies.

Sports Ministry Splashes $25,000 on Team Nigeria

The Federal Ministry of Sports has splashed $25,000 on athletes who have done the nation proud at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Chief of Staff to the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Abba Yola, made the donation at a ceremony held at Birmingham. All Gold Medal winners received $5,000, Silver Medalist received $3,000, Bronze Medal winners, got $2,000 while their Coaches were given $3,000 each.
