Makinde to Hold Meeting with Traditional Rulers

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has said he would call an expanded Security Council Meeting which would include Traditional Rulers.

Makinde noted that the meeting is to enable the State government strategize on how to prevent attacks on communities in the State.

He stated that this became necessary following the massacre of worshippers by some gunmen at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo in Ondo State.

The Governor maintained that such operations could be foiled if traditional rulers and community leaders were incorporated into the security network in each community.

The Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of Nigerian Labour Congress, Beatrice Itubo emerged the Governorship Candidate of the Labor Party. Itubo was declared winner of the primaries after pulling 201 votes out of the 272 delegate votes. The Governorship Candidate called on residents of the State to secure their Permanent Voters’ Cards in order to vote out bad Leaders.
