Rebels attack in Congo claim lives

Rebels have killed at least 14 people, including children, in an overnight attack on a displaced persons camp in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Army Spokesman, Jules Tsikudi who disclosed this on Tuesday said the rebels raided a site outside the town of Fataki where hundreds of civilians have sought refuge.

Meanwhile, the Civil Society Leader, Dieudonne Lossa gave a provisional death toll of 15.

INEC declines extension of Primaries

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has said it will not extend the timeline for Party Primaries. INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu made this known while speaking at a consultative meeting with Leaders of Political Parties in Abuja. Recalled that Political Parties in the country had appealed to INEC to extend the timelines for the 2023 general elections by two months.
