Bus accident in Zimbabwe claim lives

At least 35 people have died and 71 injured in Zimbabwe when a bus carrying churchgoers veered off the road and landed in a gorge.
Police spokesman, Paul Nyathi, confirmed the accident, noting thatthe bus was carrying members of a local Church who were travelling to an Easter meeting in the southeastern town of Chipinge.
Nyathi added that the bus was overloaded, stressing that buses in Zimbabwe typically have an average capacity of 60 to 75 passengers.

Senate constitutes committee to investigate oil theft

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has constituted a 13-member Ad-hoc Committee to investigate oil theft and its effect on petroleum production and oil revenues. Lawan, who announced the composition of the panel at plenary, named Bassey Akpan as Chairman of the Committee. The Senate President gave the committee one month to conclude work on investigations and report back to the chamber in plenary.
