Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah has announced an investment of over N2 billion for the upgrade of the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) and to address the accommodation shortage by constructing new student hostels.
The governor made the announcement during a Town Hall meeting, titled “Governance Issues: The Journey So Far,” where he engaged with the leadership of the state’s Students’ Union.
Mbah highlighted his administration’s commitment to transforming education at all levels as he unveiled plans to build Smart Schools for primary and secondary education, alongside introducing innovation and experiential learning programs for higher education.
The governor also outlined an ambitious initiative to construct 17 Smart Green Secondary Schools by 2025 as part of a broader development program that aims to establish 245 out of 260 planned Smart Green Schools, catering to students from nursery to junior secondary school.
