The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has issued a stern warning against calls for a military coup in Nigeria, declaring such actions a treasonable offense.

The warning comes in response to a viral video circulating on social media that urges the Nigerian military to seize power from President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement released on Monday, Tukur Gusau, the Director of Defence Information, emphasized the military’s unwavering commitment to preserving and advancing democracy, reaffirming loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The statement also highlighted the military’s focus on fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities, including safeguarding the nation’s integrity.
