BVAS will not be used in Anambra LG election according to ANSIEC

Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has disclosed that it would not use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System for the Local Government elections on slated for September 28th, stressing that it is not reliable.

ANSIEC Commissioner in charge of Information and Logistics, Anthony Nnalue, made the disclosure at a sensitisation programme organised by the International Peace and Civil Responsibility Centre, on Thursday in Awka.

Nnalue sstated that the commission would deploy manual accreditation, adding that it was more reliable, while assuring of early arrival of election materials, promising that the era of delayed arrival of material was over in the state.

He, however, announced that Elections will not be held in Nnewi South, Orumba South and Idemili South LGAs, stressing that Voters from those areas will be voting at the council headquarters in order not to risk the lives of both officers and voters.
