School bus crashes into crowd in China.

A school bus ploughed into a crowd of people killing at least 11, including five students, in China’s Shandong province.

According to news reports, the bus reportedly rammed into students and parents who were standing outside the gates of a school in Tai’an city.

Reports add that the driver lost control of the vehicle and has since been taken into custody as authorities investigate the cause of the incident, as it remains unclear whether the crash was intentional.

Chinese state media confirmed the fatalities, stating, that so far, a total of 11 people have died – including six parents and five students, after the bus struck the group, whilst twelve others are currently in stable condition.

The incident occurred just days after students returned to school for the start of the new academic year.
