Nigerian Army Dismantles Illegal Refining Sites

The Nigerian Army’s 6th Division, in collaboration with other security agencies, reported the destruction of approximately 115 illegal refining sites and 66 boats, with 22 suspects apprehended in Rivers and Bayelsa states.

The acting Deputy Director of 6 Division Army Public Relations, Jonah Danjuma, disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Sunday and sent to newsmen.

The Army also reported the recovery of 27 stolen pipes and four pumping machines, along with the dismantling of five illegal connections used by the suspects to siphon crude oil.

Additionally, over 170,000 stolen products were confiscated, and other associated items were deactivated.
