Israel bombs school in central Gaza

In central Gaza, Israeli forces have bombed another school sheltering displaced Palestinians, following orders issued just a day earlier for people to evacuate areas near the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, the last functioning medical facility in the region.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is calling for an immediate de-escalation after intense exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah across Lebanon’s southern border.
Meanwhile, Hamas has rejected new Israeli conditions in ongoing ceasefire talks in Egypt, insisting that Israel adhere to a proposal laid out by U.S. President Joe Biden and the United Nations Security Council.
The conflict’s toll continues to rise sharply, with at least 40,334 people reported killed and 93,356 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza as the attacks led by Hamas on October 7 resulted in an estimated 1,139 deaths in Israel.
