Federal Government sets 18 years as age limit for NECO and WAEC

The Federal Government has prohibited individuals under the age of 18 from participating in the National Examinations Council (NECO) and West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams.
The Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, made the announcement during an interview with journalists on Sunday.
He announced that the Federal Government has directed WAEC responsible for administering the West African Senior School Certificate Examination and NECO, which conducts the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), to enforce the 18-year age limit for candidates eligible to sit for these exams.
Mamman also emphasized that the age limit for candidates taking the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), is set at 18 years.
