The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has expressed his support for a new documentary film produced by the leadership of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
The film, titled “Unbroken: Two and Half Decades,” explores Nigeria’s social, political, and economic journey since 1999, highlighting the nation’s challenges and achievements.
Akume shared his thoughts on the project during a courtesy visit by IPAC’s Executive Council members, led by National Chairman Yusuf Dantalle, to the Presidential Villa on Tuesday. He praised IPAC for their initiative and assured them of the government’s backing to ensure the documentary reaches both current and future generations of Nigerians.
The SGF emphasized the importance of preserving Nigeria’s emerging democracy and its history, advocating for the reintroduction of history as a subject in the school curriculum.
Akume described the documentary as a significant effort by IPAC to document the nation’s democratic history while Dan Nwanyanwu, Chairman of the Steering Committee for the 25 Years of Democracy and the “Unbroken” movie, highlighted the reasons why the project should be a national priority.
IPAC’s Public Relations Consultant, Chris Kalu, further explained the documentary’s importance and its timing, noting that it will be streamed on global platforms like CNN, Netflix, and Amazon, promising to enhance Nigeria’s global image.
