Petrol price rises 28.35% to N770.54/ltr

In a recent report by the National Bureau of Statistics, the national average retail price of petrol surged by 28.35% year-on-year, reaching N770.54 per litre in July 2024, up from N600.35 per litre in the same month last year.
Month-on-month, petrol prices also saw an increase of 2.72% from N750.17 per litre in June 2024.
A state-by-state breakdown revealed that Katsina State recorded the highest average price at N950.00 per litre, with Jigawa and Benue States following at N903.08 and N846.95 per litre, respectively.
On the lower end, Kwara State recorded the lowest average price at N650.00 per litre, followed by Edo and Akwa Ibom States at N669.75 and N673.75 per litre, respectively.
Regionally, the North-West Zone had the highest average petrol price at N820.10 per litre, while the South-South Zone reported the lowest at N678.30 per litre.
