The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, has taken action following allegations of assault by two of its operatives during a hotel raid in Lagos.
The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has established a disciplinary panel to investigate the incident, which occurred last Thursday at the Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos, in which the accused officers were seen in a viral video allegedly assaulting a female staff member of the hotel during an early morning operation.
EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale announced that the two officers have been arrested and are scheduled to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team today, July 1st, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
This team, comprising the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee and the Department of Ethics and Integrity, will thoroughly examine the case and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures.
Chairman Olukoyede has emphasized that the EFCC is committed to holding its officers accountable for their actions, and has stated that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that the officers answer for their unprofessional conduct.
