Residents of Obiakpu Autonomous Community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State have decried the flood in their community allegedly caused by Sterling Global Company during laying of pipeline operations in the area.
The residents lamented that the flood destroyed their homes, farms, domestic animals and fish farms.
Speaking about the incident, a vegateble farmer, Faith Amadi hinted that the massive flood has submerged her multiple vegetable farmland for some days now.
The spokesperson of the community, Ndubueze Nwokeoma, who addressed newsmen alleged that the cause of the havoc is as a result of the operations of Sterling Global Oil company during their pipeline laying process which boosted the Olosho and Utu river to overflow their bank.
Nwokeoma decried the untold hardship the flood is causing to the residents and calls on the State Government and well meaning Nigerians to come to their aid.
