INEC Announces Date for Supplementary Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced date for the conduct of all outstanding governorship, National and State Assembly supplementary elections.

Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, revealed that the elections will hold on Saturday, April 15.

This comes barely one week after the governorship elections of Kebbi and Adamawa states were declared inconclusive.

Suicide Attack in Afghanistan Claim Lives

At six civilians have been killed and several others wounded in a  suicide attack close to Afghanistan’s foreign ministry. According to the spokesman for the interior ministry,  Abdul Takor, the attacker was targeted by Afghan forces but the explosives detonated. Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said a suicide attacker was identified at a security checkpoint near the ministry. Zadran added that at least three Taliban security force members were among the wounded.
