Court Halts Operation to Arrest Pakistan’s Former Prime Minister

A court in the Pakistan has halted of a two-day operation to arrest former Prime Minister Imran Khan until Thursday.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, PTI had petitioned the Islamabad High Court, seeking the cancellation of the non-bail able arrest warrant.

The court dismissed the plea, asking Khan to submit an undertaking to a lower court that he would appear before it on March 18.

Security forces first attempted to take the leader of the party into custody on Tuesday after an Islamabad court issued an arrest warrant to ensure his attendance in court by March 18.

Inflation Rate Rises to 21.82%

Nigeria inflation rate has risen to 21.91%, compared to January 2023 inflation rate which was 21.82%. According to the Consumer Price Index report by the National Bureau of Statistics, the percentage represents a 0.09% point increase. The rise in the inflation rate followed the naira crisis across the country and uncertainties relating to the just concluded presidential election.
