The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has warned that the scarcity of the new naira notes is a threat to national security.
A statement signed by its national Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to check the internal saboteurs within the banking system that are hijacking the new notes.
The statement noted that the inefficiency of the governor of the, Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, is a pointer to why Nigeria needs an independent Governor of the apex bank.
It added that there is more to know about the rush with which the redesigning of the naira was handled by the Governor of the CBN.
