Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari, for his efforts at defeating the Boko Haram insurgents, bandits and other terrorists groups destroying parts of the country.
Wike made the commendation after the wreath laying ceremony to mark the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration at Isaac Boro Park, at Government House, Port Harcourt.
He noted that a grateful country honors its armed forces’ extraordinary bravery and courage during their service and the sacrifices of their families for the common good.
The governor added that members of the armed forces have paid the maximum price while fighting in these numerous battles to achieve tactical victories over the enemies of the country.
A former federal Minister of Health, A.B.C. Nwosu has resigned from his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its Board of Trustees, BOT.
