The High Court in Minna, Niger State, has issued a warrant of arrest for the Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya for alleged contempt of court.

Delivering Judgement, the presiding Judge, Halima Abdulmalik, noted that the order followed the hearing of a case brought before the court, pursuant to Order 42, Rule 10 of the State High Court Civil Procedure 2018.

Justice Abdulmalik directed that the two suspects should be remanded in custody until they purge themselves of the court contempt.
The judge, however, adjourned the case to 8 December 2022 for continuation.

Germany to Relax Immigration Laws

Germany's government has agreed to relax its immigration laws. Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said the reforms would create the most modern law on immigration in Europe. This is also aimed at attracting skilled workers to its jobs market. Germany suffers from an ageing workforce and a lack of workers in construction, health and IT. Labour Minister Hubertus Heil said seven million skilled workers would be needed by 2035.
