The National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno has said that the proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons remained a huge threat to Nigeria’s security.
Monguno disclosed this during the destruction of over 3,000 small arms recovered from across the country by the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons on Thursday in Kaduna State.
He noted that the proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons was a major source of vulnerability in the society.
The Federal Government has said it set to partner with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom and the United Nations Children’s Fund to sponsor the education of 1.5 million girls in northern Nigeria.
