Uniport Protest Against Maltreatment of Lecturers

University of Port Harcourt chapter of the Academic Staff of Nigerian Universities, ASUU, paralyzed academic activities with a protest against maltreatment of lecturers.

The protest, led by the UNIPORT ASUU chairman, Darlington Uzoma, revealed that at least 20 of its members in the institution are being owed 22 months’ salaries because of the carelessness of the Federal Government through the payment system it adopted.

The lecturers marched from the union secretariat through the main gate of the university to the Senate building.
