Awa Ancient Kingdom in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State has called on both the federal and state governments to extend relief package for flood victims in the autonomous community.
The traditional ruler of the Community, Ihezie Ononuju made the call in his address during the 2022 new yam festival of the community.
Ononuju revealed that flood ravaged farmlands in the area and destroyed farm crops worth millions of naira.
Nigerians have reacted to the move by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to redesign the 200, 500 and 1,000 naira notes. Speaking with Boss Radio News, a civil servant, Simeon Okwudili, says designing the notes it will help to recover some stolen funds. For Ikechukwu Uchemba, the reviving the economy should be a priority. Praise Ugwu adds that the idea is a waste of funds.
