INEC to Deploy Undercover Agents in 2023 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced plans to deploy undercover agents to polling units for the 2023 general elections.

INEC Chairman on Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, who made this known during a citizens’ election dialogue, revealed that the undercover security personnel will be deployed, in a bid to cut down on the menace of vote buying/

Okoye assured that the commission will continue to train its members of staff towards ensuring a hitch-free poll.

The Chairman reiterated the commission’s commitment to delivering free, fair and credible elections in collaboration with security agencies.
