Nigeria Re-elected into International Telecommunication Union

Nigeria has been re-elected as a council member of the International Telecommunication Union, ITU.

A statement issued by the Director, Public Affairs, Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Reuben Muoka, revealed that Nigeria was re-elected based on the clear recognition of the critical role its playing on the global telecom stage.

The statement added that Nigeria had been grouped to serve in region D for Africa alongside other African countries.

The election of Nigeria and other countries, into different regional groups that constitute the ITU Council, was the highpoint of the Plenipotentiary Conference 2022, in Bucharest.

CBN Injects N9trillion into Economy

The Central Bank of Nigeria has injected a total of N9 trillion into the Nigerian economy as of September 2022. Governor of the central bank, Godwin Emefiele, revealed this when the monetary policy committee meeting last Tuesday. Emefiele claimed that the apex bank injected this amount into the economy in the last 3 years while also offering a 2-year moratorium for 10-year long-term facilities.
