Senate Launches Investigation into Oil Theft

The Senate has begun investigation into oil theft and illegal bunkering activities in the Niger Delta region.

Chairman of the Adhoc Committee on oil theft, Bassey Akpan, made this known to newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport.

Akpan decried the massive stealing of Nigeria’s crude oil, describing it as troubling.

The Chairman noted that the country had lost huge earnings and failed to meet the quota allocated by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.
