Kwara Colleges of Education Calls Off Strike

The Academic Staff of Colleges of Education in Kwara State have called off their nine weeks strike.

This was contained in statement issued by the State Head of Service, Susan Oluwole.

According to the statement, the State Secretary of the Joint Academic Staff Unions of Tertiary Institutions, Musa Mahmoud, announced that the suspension of the action followed the signing of agreement with representatives of the state government.

The Head of Service commended both parties in the negotiation for the matured and responsible manner the issue was handled, which resulted in reaching acceptable agreement.

Fayemi Approves Dissolution of Boards

Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has approved the dissolution of Boards and Commissions in the State. A statement issued by the Secretary to State Government, Foluso Daramola disclosed that the approval takes effect from August 31, 2022. According to the statement, the Governor also approved the stoppage of the Services of Special Advisers who are not Cabinet members, Technical Advisers, Director-Generals and other Heads of Non-Ministerial offices in the State.
