Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union to Hold Meeting

The National Executive Council of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU, will meet on Wednesday to decide whether to extend or suspend its ongoing strike.

The union’s Secretary General, Ahmed Lawan, noted that the union had met with the renegotiation team from the government and that it would hold its National Executive Council meeting to decide on the way forward.

Recall, that the union embarked on strike following the failure of the government to meet some of its lingering demands.

Flood in South Korea Claim 14 lives

At least eight people have died and 14 others injured as flooding caused by torrential rain hit parts of South Korea's capital Seoul. Heavy downpours on Monday night submerged roads, flooded metro stations and caused blackouts across the city and neighboring provinces. Weather officials said the rain was likely to continue over several days. Local reports revealed that three victims were living in a semi-basement apartment known as a banjiha.
