Senegal’s President Sacks Health Minister Over Death of Babies

Senegal’s President, Macky Sall has sacked the Country’s Health Minister, Abdoulaye Sarr, after 11 babies were killed by a fire in a Hospital in Tivaouane.

According to Sall, Sarr will be replaced by the Ministry’s Director- General, Marie Ndiaye.

The President, who declared three days of national mourning, ordered an investigation into the tragedy.

The blaze, which engulfed the newborn Unit at the Tivaouane Hospital, is being blamed on an electrical short circuit.
