Ortom Laments Hosting Cameroonian Refugees

Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, has said the hosting of Cameroonian refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, has affected the socio-economic condition of the state.

Ortom explained that the unfortunate situation has overstretched the state’s resources.

He said the declaration then was in response to the alleged marginalization of the zone by the government of Cameroon, amongst other problems.

The governor called on the federal government to provide more security at the border areas to ensure the return of the IDPs.
