The Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, has been suspended indefinitely over his alleged involvement in a N80 billion fraud.
The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, suspended Idris on Wednesday.
Ahmed stated that the suspension was to allow for proper investigation in line with public service rules.
Recall that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, announced the arrest of the Accountant general over alleged diversion and laundering of N80 billion
President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with families who lost their loved ones in the Sabon Gari, gas explosion. Buhari directed officials to provide adequate treatment for the injured persons. The President, however, commended the immediate steps taken in response to the incident by the agencies of the State Government, National Emergency Management Authority, NEMA, and other agencies.
