The exchange rate between the naira and the US dollar depreciated further on Thursday exchanging at N420 to the dollar at the Investors and Exporters Window.
This represents 0.30 per cent depreciation from N418.75 traded on the previous day.
Also, the exchange rate of N444.00 to the dollar was the highest rate recorded within the day’s trading before it settled at N420.
Sri Lanka has sworn-in Ranil Wickremesinghe as its Prime Minister for the sixth time. Wickremesinghe was sworn in by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa during a ceremony at the President’s House on Thursday. The new Prime Minister’s appointment came days after the brother of the President, Mahinda Rajapaksa, vacated the position amid riots triggered by his supporters.
