The Senator representing Abia South Enyinnaya Abaribe, has said the Peoples Democratic Party’s zoning arrangement in Abia state was not a recipe for anarchy.
Abaribe disclosed this at the 10th Synod of the Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Umuahia, in Nsukwe/Amibo Ubakala North Archdeaconry.
He added that the state must look out for leaders that are God-fearing, not fanatics, known for corrupt enrichment, abuse of office, and economic wastage of public funds.
Imo state government has activated mechanisms to end illegal refining in oil-bearing communities in the state. The state Commissioner for Petroleum Resources, Goodluck Opiah, stressed that illegal oil business was affecting the economy of the state. Opiah added that the state government has ordered a clampdown on all illegal refineries in the state.
