Lebanese Authorities have indefinitely suspended issuing new passports.

Head of the country’s General Security Organization, GSO, Abbas Ibrahim, announced that the number of passports it had available to issue had dwindled, as requests for new passports increased over the past two years.

Ibrahim noted that Lebanon has been struggling to cope with up to 8000 daily requests for new passports since December.

This comes as the Country’s worsening economic crisis continues to push people to leave the country.
