UNITED APPOINTS TEN HAG AS MANAGER

Manchester United has appointed Erik ten Hag as their new first-team manager.
United disclosed this in a statement via its website.
The statement noted that the appointment is subject to work visa requirements, from the end of this season until June 2025, with the option to extend for a year.
Football Director, John Murtough, said Hag has proved himself to be one of the most exciting and successful coaches in Europe.

Earthquake hits west coast of Nicaragua

An earthquake has struck off the western coast of Nicaragua. According to the United States Geological Survey, USGS, no tsunami threat was immediately reported following the earthquake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 6.7. The USGS said there was a low likelihood of casualties and damage from the tremor. The agency noted that there are structures in the region that are vulnerable to earthquakes.
