Ondo state government has suspended a Civil Servant for reportedly spreading fake news about the death of the Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The suspension was disclosed by the Head of Service, John Adeyemo, on Wednesday.
Adeyemo disclosed that the civil servant’s name has been forwarded to the Civil Service Commission for appropriate punishment.
The Head of Service, however, expressed joy that the Governor is back to the country hale and hearty.
Following the alleged employment racketeering in Akwa Ibom Civil Service, the state government has urged the public to report anyone or group involved in the extortion for prosecution. Head of Service, Effiong Essien, who disclosed this to newsmen in Uyo, the State Capital assured the privacy of the informant would be kept. Essien noted that his office has been working hard to ensure that the syndicate is smashed.
