Niger to partner Nigeria on security

Niger Republic is seeking Nigeria’s financial support in the establishment of another Security outfit similar to the Multinational Joint Task Force, MNJTF.

The country’s President, Mohammed Bazoun made this know during his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday.

Bazoun revealed that the MNJTF created for the Northeast region had established relief within the region, adding that countries within the Sahel region would be delighted if Nigeria would support a replication of the outfit against bandits in the Northwest.

The President noted tthat if Nigeria agrees to the establishment of a multinational security outfit in the Northwest, it would reduce the economic and financial burden of supporting such task on other Sahel countries.
